In this workshop, we will go over common kitchen herbs and spices and their properties for supporting you and your household’s health during the cold winter months. From a Folk Herbalism approach, we will look at these herbs and some staple remedies you can easily, and affordably, make in your kitchen.
Together, we will make one remedy that you will get to take home. Paritipcants will also get to taste a few herbal infusions.
As well, all participants will get to take home our “Winter Remedies” zine which contains all the workshop information, more remedies and recipes, and information on local wild medicines (which can be sustainably attained) that you might consider adding to your kitchen apothecary.
This event takes place on Tio’tia:ke (a.k.a Montreal), unceded Kanien’keha:ka (Mohawk) territory, and a traditional meeting place of many Indigenous nations and peoples including the including the omàmiwininì or Algonquin people.
